Artist's Description

Burmese Monks give up all worldly possessions; they often have nothing but their robes and alms bowl. People willingly pass out rice and often some curry to long lines of monks as a way to earn coveted merit. This monk had already collected rice and was headed back to the monastery to eat his one daily meal before likely spending the remainder of the day meditating and teaching.

About Joshua Van Lare

Joshua Van Lare

Joshua currently lives in Southeast Asia. While originally from New York, his international lifestyle has afforded him the opportunity to pursue his passions of travel and photography. He will often go out and intentionally get lost; totally immersing himself in an extraordinary place and culture. When everything is completely fresh and unfamiliar, Josh feels most alive and is inspired to capture "moments" from those adventures to share with others. Joshua recently had his work recognized by National Geographic, as he was published in their book, entitled, Getting Your Shot: Stunning Photos, How-To Tips, and Endless Inspiration From The Pros.
