Wow...thanks Alexander!

Artist's Description

It seems that there's always a back door; another way in. The ancient Roman ruins in Jerash, Jordan were no exception. This hole cut in the fence is where the locals enter to enjoy the grounds of this magnificent site. I couldn't help but to wonder why this key dangled there at the opening. Who had put it there and why? A little girl who had kindly shared some of her snacks with me saw me photograph it. As I went to leave she ran over and took it down, then smiled and gave it to me.

About Joshua Van Lare

Joshua Van Lare

Joshua currently lives in Southeast Asia. While originally from New York, his international lifestyle has afforded him the opportunity to pursue his passions of travel and photography. He will often go out and intentionally get lost; totally immersing himself in an extraordinary place and culture. When everything is completely fresh and unfamiliar, Josh feels most alive and is inspired to capture "moments" from those adventures to share with others. Joshua recently had his work recognized by National Geographic, as he was published in their book, entitled, Getting Your Shot: Stunning Photos, How-To Tips, and Endless Inspiration From The Pros.
